10. Moon River – Frank Ocean
The elusive super star released one song this year. This song was the melancholy love tune, Moon River. Frank follows in the tradition of her post-Endless era sound with a delicate attention to detail in the 21st rendition of the Sinatra hit song. Frank’s passionate vocals float with the air of wisdom decades beyond his years. The song comes and goes with the fluidity of the night sea.

9. Lucky You– Eminem ft. Joyner Lucas
Eminem was a mission to show us his lyrical ability and talent in music. Joyner helped him prove that point on the ground shaking smash, Lucky. Who would’ve known that it took a year of viral name bashing and legacy tampering on the internet to rile the giant up. It’s a good think he struck, because the results is power and energizing song crafted for high intensity gym work outs.

8. Fallingwater – Maggie Rogers
It wasn’t easy for Maggie to reach this level of success. Luckily Pharrell gave her the cosign she deserved. Fallingwater demonstrates Maggie’s struggles with the fame and breaching that next level of star power. As talented as she is, and as smooth and calming as this song is, I think she’s ready.

7. Switch – 6lack
The road to success is never a straight line. Even once you get their sometimes it isn’t what you think. People you may love might not make it they’re with you. This rings true with 6lack in his album highlight Switch. The guitar laden banger details the roller coaster ride that was 6lack’s relationship. It doesn’t end well, but the Atlanta artist was more than willing to lay it all out for us.

6. Sycamore – American Pleasure Club
Sycamore is beautiful, soft, and as ethereal as the pearly gates. As the saxophone leads this track into ambient bliss enjoy vocals about the appreciation of the almighty.

5. Hunger – Florence + The Machine
If you haven’t given the music video for this song a listen – take the time to do just that. Apart from the wonderful colors that compliment one another in every cut Florence is dancing in her signature ill-practiced way. It’s endearing and straight up cute to watch. In addition to the appeals of the video the song is absolutely magnificent. The spaced-out keys gives Florence just enough room to push her powerful voice through and open up about her struggles with self-confidence and her call on the new generation to continue to love their selves. The song transitions into quiet the dance tune by the first bridge and the rhythm never gives. Florence is known for her larger than life stage presence and it’s songs like these that give the audience a run for their money.

4. Coming to an end – Say Sue Me
It’s the slow-paced and patient chord progression that lures you in. However, the delicate lyrics and skyfalling closer that elevates this song into the top 10 of 2018. Say Sue Me is an average band in talent but above average in their ambition. The latter assures them in their abilities brings them to a place of unique instrumentation which is rather enjoyable to hear. Coming to an end is just the passionate ending the heart-felt album needed. In the aftermath of a loss, closure was accomplished.

3.Foreign love – popcaan
Popcaan is growing into a rising international star. With the recent signing to OVO records he is destined for a big 2019. In 2018 he made a significant splash with his sophomore cut, Forever. Foreign love finds the dancehall star in deep infatuation with a significant other. The love is so foreign he’s crooning in another language all throughout the chorus. From start to finish the song takes you on a beautiful journey of love and romantic liberation.

2. Sucker punch (acoustic) - Sigrid
Even though she knows things might go bad, she’s still going to face the possible ‘sucker punch’ of a bad relationship. Sigrid makes a great pop tune gorgeously intimidate in the acoustic version of her hit song, sucker punch. The Norwegian up and comer has a lot to prove and if this song isn’t proof enough, I thin she’s ready.
